This directory contains a summary of code that was added, deleted or
changed to fit the Earth System Modleing Framework (ESMF) joint milestone
codeset (JMC) codes JMC h and JMC j within ESMF (code-changes.txt).

 JMC h is the GFDL B-grid atmosphere and JMC j is the GFDL MOM4 code. 
Details of both JMC h and JMC j can be found under the "Applications"
link at http://www.esmf.ucar.edu. 

 The file "code-changes.txt" shows a summary of modifications made to a coupled
atmosphere-land-seaice-ocean configuration based on JMC h and JMC j. These
changes involved encapsulating both JMC h and JMC j as ESMF components
to allow an alternate ocean component (an MITgcm ocean configuration at 2.8 
degree resolution - JMCl_c) to be substituted in place of MOM4.
