The MITgcm cluster facility includes storage local to compute nodes and a centralized disk farm for temporary storage. Both storage areas are available for temporary storage and are

bulletnot backed up
bulletautomatically purged of older files nightly to bring disk utilization below approximately 80%.

The storage local to compute nodes has a pathname /s/local/1. The central storage disk farm is accessible from all compute nodes using pathnames of the form /sNN, where NN is the number of the disk set. Currently there are eight disk sets numbered 00-07.

Account homes spaces ( /homes ) are backed up.
